Summer 2012 ...

After having contacted local Boutique back home in Jersey, I have work lined up throughout summer, beginning with this new client. It is something new, contacting the owner and discussing potential work which involves fashion. I feel it will be a great success and be an enjoyable experience.
Me and Charlie (owner) have met up and discussed potential shoots which I am absolutely chuffed about.

Wedding Location Shoot

April, 16   2012

My latest work experience was another wedding shoot in collaboration with 'Aruba'. This time the shoot was on Location at a house who is a customer of Ali's.

Wedding Studio Shoot

September, 12 2011

This was another shoot working with Aruba hair salon and Alison, the boss. She was after some posed wedding images for a local Wedding Magazine. She had 3 women and 3 males as couples to style their hair. They were asked to fix their own make-up before getting changed into the wedding dresses which were borrowed from Ali's friend who owns the Bridal shop, 'Ellis'. We used 3 dresses and 1 flower bouquet.

The day was such a success, the couples were well suited and worked great together. Some images were slightly posed but the majority portrayed a fun day for all.

KPMG Charity Work

'Hospice'

Another warm day, this group were the older people who had been doing these events for a few years so had an idea of what goes on. This helped me a bit as they understood why I was there and what I needed from them. I did not ask them to pose as when it came to the end of the day, they were hot and bothered so leaving them finish was the best thing to do, however I did manage to achieve some decent images to portray a hard working but also relaxed environment.

'Springfield School'

This day was a very hot day, so these guys really had their work cut out for them. When I arrived in the morning there was already a lot going on and they were busy getting down to it as they only had 1 day to complete the work.
When I came back later on in the day I felt they had relaxed a bit into it and were able to enjoy the work instead of feeling under pressure. As it was a charity event I wanted to portray a fun side to the task and not just make it look like all work and no play.

'Shelter'

My friend works for the company KPMG and they hold an annual charity week each summer and this year I was asked to photograph each event for them to use for their company intranet and marketing images. A great way to boost confidence by having new people to interact with. Initially I did feel rather nervous, but after being with them for a short while, I began to warm into it and relax a little which hopefully ensured my images were good quality.

Portfolio work No.3

August, 8 2011
'Lauren'

This model was slightly more experienced and older and this time Rory chose another dramatic style, with a kind of two-faced theme with opposite hair and make-up on either side of the face.

She wasn't very good with instructions and found it difficult to manipulate any other 'poses' other than her standard 'passport' style look. I tried different ways of directing her but every time she would still come back to the usual. Although it did not go exactly according to plan I was still able to develop some worthy edits which Rory was pleased with = Brief Complete.
